This was the revelation from last night and this morning. If you having problems getting this stuff to work because Windows is stupid in how it handles USB devices. The driver that comes with PDAnet works on pretty much all versions of Windows from XP forward. So, I think overall it is universally applicable. The USB issue stuff is a common windows problem and it is particularly troublesome with ADB.
