A Periodic Table of the Elements scavenger hunt all about using the language of math and atomic weights, with a few atomic numbers thrown in, to reveal who abbreviated element names to two symbols! Just one of a series of student centered, fun and engaging scavenger hunt activities designed to introduce and familiarize students with the Periodic Table.

These scavenger hunts are best done in small groups, can be completed prior to any lesson on the Periodic Table, and are great worry free plans for substitute teachers. Provide students with copies of the scavenger hunts, a periodic table, andoff they go.
